Offshore Theory is an independent educational website. It is not affiliated with or accredited by the Royal Yachting Association.

What we collect

Only your email address, and only if you choose to give it to us through a form on this site. Nothing else.

We do not ask for your name, your location, or any other personal detail.

Why we collect it

To let you know when the full course opens, and to send you material related to preparing for the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore theory exam.

That is all. We will never sell your email address, rent it, or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Legal basis

Your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. You give it by ticking the consent box before submitting a form. You can withdraw it at any time.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from our list permanently.

Who else handles it

Our mailing list is run by MailerLite Limited, an Irish-registered company headquartered in Lithuania. They act as our data processor. Subscriber data from the European Economic Area is stored on servers within the European Union.

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. Like any web host, their servers may record technical data such as your IP address when you load a page. We have no access to those records and do not use them.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking scripts of any kind. Nothing on these pages is loaded from an external server. The only time data leaves this site is when you submit the signup form yourself, which sends your email address to MailerLite.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, receive a copy of it, object to its use, and withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, write to info@offshoretheory.com. We will respond within one month.

If you believe your data has been mishandled, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) at www.aepd.es
